Naturopath - Thyroid and Goiter

According to Dr Wallach and Dr Glidden: "Goiter, Colloid Goiter, or Hypothyroid is caused by a simple deficiency of nutrients including iodine, copper, molybdenum, amino acid tyrosine, etc.. Nitrates are goiterogenic (which stimulate goiter formation) found in lunch meats, hot dogs, sausages, etc. Another goiterogen source is nitrates from fertilizers that got into well water, so have it tested for nitrates as they as carcinogenic as well as goiterogenic. Also goiterogenic are Cruciferous Vegetables: Cabbage, Eggplant, Kale, Cauliflower, Spinach Broccoli and Brussel Sprouts, as they decrease and supress thyroid function (if someone has an Active or Hyperthyroid then the opposite - they would want to eat the Cruciferous Vegetables). Diagnosis is easy due to the nutrient deficient thyroid gland enlarging to 50 - to 100 times it's normal size, located below the larynx  in the front of the neck. Treatment includes removal of all Goitrogens including nitrates (read the labels) from the diet, supplementing with iodine at 250 mcg/day plus the 91 essential nutrients."
According to Dr Wallach and Dr Glidden, among the 91 Essential Nutrients, the vital nutrients that the Thyroid needs are Copper, Iodine and Selenium, and as the body ages and goes through the different types of stress (mega, common and chronic) the Thyroid run out of these nutrients that it needs for support and promote it's health, and the tissue breaks down. When Iodine runs out it leads to Goiter. When the Copper and Selenium run out the Thyroid malfunctions.
